My 7-year-old son has always been a good sleeper.
He’s a really early riser, but once his head hits the pillow in the evening, he is out.
My little girl, though… she’s another story. She will find every reason in the book to get out of bed at night.
That’s why I turned to aromatherapy and started using my sweet dreams spray to help aid her little body in relaxing so we could both get better sleep!

The ingredients to this sweet dreams pillow spray for kids are simple and few.
You’ll just have to mix:
a pinch of Epsom salts
4 oz. of water
and 20 drops total of essential oils that aid in sleep and are also safe for children.
I like to use a blend
Other options are cedarwood, clary sage, frankincense or vetiver.
When your ingredients are mixed, pour into the spray bottle of your choice.
I found this pink jewel-shaped spray bottle, which is right up my girl’s little princess-obsessed alley.
Any type of pump or spray bottle will do. But if you love the flashy pink diamond bottle too, go for it!
By the way, you should use a glass spray bottle when working with essential oils, since the undiluted oils can break down plastic over time. This spray is pretty diluted for kids safety, so I think it will be ok.
I also added sparkly golden sleepy eyes created with some glitter glue. Very glam!
You could always make a fun sticker label for your pillow spray, too. But I knew my girl would only want to look at the bright pink bottle, so I chose to go without.
Now, our sweet dreams pillow spray is part of our nightly routine.
First, we give my daughter’s pillow a couple of quick sprays while we put pj’s on. Thanks to the Epsom salts in the mix, her pillow is dry by the time we get back from brushing teeth in the
After a book or two, my girl is ready to sleep and most days she stays in bed for the entire night. Victory!
You’ll want to keep this pillow spray out of reach of little hands and avoid spraying it directly on the skin.
This spray also shouldn’t be used for babies, children under two, or anyone sensitive to the ingredients. As with anything, be sure to check with your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.
