Having a regular yoga routine in the mornings has made a huge improvement in my daily life.
Whether I need an energizing pick-me-up, or if I’d rather ease into the day, following online yoga videos gets my body and mind primed and ready to go!
But, whether you have an at-home routine or practice yoga in a studio, washing your yoga mat is a must.
Think about it.
How many times do your sweaty hands and feet touch your mat during a regular session? The answer is … a whole bunch.
It’s a good idea to regularly wash your yoga mat with a small amount of mild soap and water. But this can take a while to dry, and the soap has the potential to make a mat slippery.
I like to have something handy for in-between washes.
This yoga mat spray with essential oils is the perfect thing!

The spray I use is a mix of a few ingredients that most essential oil fans have in their stash.
In a 16 ounce spray bottle, combine:
1 c. filtered water
1/4 c. witch hazel
15 drops lavender essential oil
10 drops tea tree oil
5 drops eucalyptus essential oil

Shake well and spray your mat after your routine.
The witch hazel helps with quick evaporation, while anti-bacterial qualities of the blend of essential oils aids in disinfection.
Quick side note: if anyone is looking for a new yoga mat, this is the one I use and I love it! It’s extra long and has some guidelines to help improve your form. It’s also made of TPE, which is a material that is meant to decompose in a landfill.

Plus, the scent of this spray is heavenly!
So relaxing. Like being in a spa!

I like to keep this spray handy and use it often to freshen the air around my work-out space, too.
The eucalyptus will really open up your nose to keep you breathing deep!
If you’re looking for a quick refresher for your yoga mat, give this spray a try!
